Post-truth politics and future of freelance(independent) journalism
Newsrooms around the world are more dependent on local freelance journalists to report on crisis and dangerous zones. They work as stingers, translators, photographers and put their lives in danger by working without any hostile environment trainings and insurances. They are hired because they not only bring hard news, but also because they are affordable.
This session will explore local newsgathering-storytelling techniques and its impact on international media, And also how does working with international media affect the safety, livelihoods and careers of local freelancers?
